Tryouts

Players will be placed on the team that best fits their showing at tryouts along with what the coaching staff deems appropriate for the player's development and the best interests of each team.  While it may be the goal to make the Varsity team, players must be realistic and understand that the coaching staff is evaluating 125+ players in grades 8-12 from a wide variety of abilities.

Team placements will be posted online at the conclusion of grade level tryouts (players tryout # will be listed under their initial team placement).

 

​Players may move up to play at a higher level or play at a different level to help with their development and/or team needs during the season.  Feedback will be provided to players following tryouts. This must be player initiated and the coaching staff will only meet with the player as a first step (location and time TBD). Players are expected to meet with the coaching staff with questions regarding their initial team placement before a parent or guardian contacts the coaches via email, phone or in person.  Any player who chooses not to accept their team placement (self-cut) will be given a full refund from the MHS Activities Office.

 

Designated players will be selected as + players within their level. This will provide opportunities to practice and/or play with a different level (i.e. JV+ player would be invited to train with the varsity as well as potentially suit up for varsity games).
